Paty's fight

Paty felt a bump on her scalp in December 2018 which was removed in the dermatologist office. A couple of months later the itchy lump was back. This was sent for a biopsy. It revealed that the lump was metastasized cancer. Since then she has had several tests done to determine the primary cancer. After a few visits to the oncologist, on March 20th Paty was diagnosed with Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer.


Even though the primary location is determined to be her left lung, it has spread. Her oncologist has ordered an MRI of the brain and CT scan of her femur. The doctor says that medicine has made good progress on this specific type of cancer, radiation and chemo being the treatment plan.


Paty did not ask for this fight, the Vasquez family did not ask for this fight. Paty has a very positive attitude and plans to beat this disease. Paty’s son, my dear friend Mario Vasquez, is positive and hopeful. All her loved ones are with her. But, this is going to be an uphill battle. An unwanted and exhausting journey physically, mentally and financially.
