Paul and Karen Richmond

On Friday June 7th my brother in law Paul, my sister Karen and myself were riding to Reno Street Vibrations. Paul’s front tire came across some sand in the lane which was not visible. The front end of the bike started to slide and as Paul corrected his travel his right leg and foot came off of the bikes foot rest. Paul’s boot hit the pavement and his leg was pinned under the passenger foot peg. Paul broke his tibia and another smaller bone in the leg. After breaking his leg in two places Paul heroically managed to brake and clutch AND bring the bike to a stop while his concern for Karen’s safety was the only thing on his mind! All of this took place right in front of me and it was surreal to say the least. They are both grateful as this accident could have been so much worse for both of them if the bike would have gone down. Unfortunately they are now in dire need of help. They have zero medical insurance and  will be incurring the emergency room, two nights in the hospital and surgery bills. A steel rod in the tibia as well as a plate and screws have been inserted in his leg. The more pressing need is Paul’s long haul trucking job is their only income. We are desperately reaching out for any support from friends, family and kind hearted others. There is no donation that is too big or small... any amount is deeply appreciated.
