In 2017, my dad turned 56 years old. He was already two years into his battle with prostate cancer. To celebrate his birthday, he and my mom went out to eat and as any man would want to do, spent the remainder of the evening exploring The Home Depot. While walking out the door, my dad overheard a women discussing with a sales associated that she needed to rent a truck to take home the ladder that she just purchased.
His response to this was, "not on my birthday."
My dad lifted the womans ladder into the back of his truck. He and my mom followed the very grateful women to her home in Jeffersonville to deliver the ladder. Or course, he would never accept anything by a grateful heart for his good deed.
My parents have always been more than willing to give everything that they have to help other. But, while being so giving, my mom as worked two jobs and countless hours a week to make ends meet.
She is the children directed at our church, and as works as a dental hygienist. Dad has been sick since I was little and has always done everything that he can to raise three daughters and help financially.
My parents are amazing. They never ask for help, but they don't hesitate to help others.
In 2015, my dad was diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer. After removal of his prostate and nerve bundles, his cancer became mastic. He has gone through unsuccessful chemotherapy treatments and radiation treatments. I can't explain the toll that this has taken on my parents emotionally, physically, spiritually, and financially.
Hospital bills add up very quickly.
Currently, dad has been accepted into a trial in Nashville, Tennessee. Although, the trail is free; the gas, the food, and additional expensive seem unreachable for them. My dad is currently trying additional medication that insurance has not approved and will not pay for. It cost them over $400 a month.
After years of working two jobs, ends just aren't meeting anymore. They are drowning in hospital bills. This simply adds the unbelievable stress that a terminal cancer diagnosis causes to your relationship.
My parents would never ask for your help, so myself, and my sisters are asking for you help for them.
If your family has been blessed with an abundance financially we would greatly appreciate your help. If my mom or dad has helped teach your children the love of Christ, or gone out of her way to help you or your family, now would be a great time to show the how much they are appreciated.
If you or your family could financially help in any way, please remember that even small donations will add up.
If your family hasn't been blessed financially, we completely understand! Please take the time to pray for my family. Add them to your pray list and commit to praying for them daily.
Much love to all.
