Paul Damberg Recovery Fund

Paul Damberg has spent his career working to find ways to improve community connectedness and find ways to make our community stronger. Now we have the opportunity to return the favor.
On June 2, 2021, Paul was diagnosed with Necrotizing Fasciitis. To save his life, Paul and Nancy had to make devastating choices. Paul lost his left leg above the knee. He endured nine surgeries in the 5 weeks between the amputation and his treatment for invasive Staphylococcus aureus infection plus Osteomyelitis in early July. He was in the hospital or rehab for 160 days from June to November. A second staph infection in his blood in late January 2022 resulted in another five weeks of hospitalization and rehabilitation. He fought off four near-death situations. His determined attitude (or as he puts it, his stubborn nature) has kept him going.
He is back to work full time and is in the office twice per week. But it is far from easy and has been expensive. In addition to unimaginable changes in lifestyle, Paul has faced a pile of bills. His employer has provided excellent coverage, but the out-of-pocket expenses thus far have been significant, and more are yet to come. The goal is to raise $75,000 for purchasing a specialized vehicle purpose made to accommodate a wheelchair driver with hand controls and for disability adaptive accommodations will allow him to get back to living an independent impactful life.
You know Paul Damberg has always assisted people and causes that ask for his help, that is what he has always done. Now it’s our turn to help him be able to keep doing what he does!
