Paul Gamble's recovery fund

At the end of the day on Friday, May 5th, our beloved Mandarin Teacher, Kang Laoshi (pronounced /k-ah-ng/ /lao/ /shir), Paul Gamble, was in a serious bike accident. Unfortunately he will not be able to be with us again until after the end of the school year. He is currently in a hospital, surrounded by family and under the close watch of his doctors. We received an update on 5/12/23 that he is out of the surgical ICU and fully conscious. The road to recovery will be long but we are heartened by the fact that Paul is strong and otherwise healthy and will take this challenge on.

We have heard from many folks in the BWS community that they would like to help somehow. We communicated with Paul's family about starting a GoFundMe to help with all the medical bills and they were grateful for the outpouring of support.

The number we chose is based on covering Paul's deductible and out-of-pocket limit plus expected ongoing needs like physical therapy, transportation fares, alternate health practices, etc.

We ask that this page be kept within the BWS community. The family would like to preserve Paul's privacy and do not want this effort to be public on a larger scale.
