Paul Hentz Family Fire Relief Fund

Allen Maxwell, our '67 Garey High classmate from Pomona and close friend of Paul and Teresa Hentz, came up with the wonderful idea of helping our dear friend and previous Pomona resident Paul Hentz and his wife Teresa rebuild their home that was recently destroyed in the Santa Rosa fires. Many of our other Garey High classmates and Pomona friends voiced interest to join the effort. I'm Harriet Kipper and along with our Garey classmates would like to sponsor a special "GoFundMe" campaign for Paul and Teresa Hentz who have suffered a devasting loss.
Paul and his wife Teresa Venturi-Hentz, who just celebrated their 30th Anniversary in Sept, lost their home of 29 years in the Sonoma County Fire that devastated their neighborhood of Coffey Park. They were able to leave with just the clothes on their backs and their two cats. Paul worked for REACH Air Medical Services for 28 years but was forced to retire several years ago due to health issues. Teresa, who also worked for REACH for 13 years, but was sadly laid off in Sept when her department was relocated to Texas.
Teresa's mother, Evelyn Venturi, also lost her home in Larkfield, which had been custom built by the Venturi family in 1962. They later built another home over their swimming pool for Evelyn's in-laws, which was currently occupied by her granddaughter Gina Cowan. Gina's home also caught fire and collapsed into the pool below. They had a total of 6 weddings in their family home and numerous wonderful celebrations with friends and family. They were all devastated when they learned that it was gone. Ironically, both homes to either side were still standing.
Also lost in the Larkfield fire was a restaurant that was built by the Venturi family in 1946. They began leasing the restaurant over 45 years ago, and it is now known as the very popular Cricklewood restaurant. Teresa's sister Pam Cowan was also evacuated from the Coffey Park fire, and now the Hentz, Venturi and Cowan families have all been staying with Pam's son and daughter-in-law Stephen and Jeanette Cowan.
While the loss of one home was terribly devastating, losing three homes and a business all in one night was indescribable. But they are so very grateful that they are all safe and together, and hope to eventually rebuild all that was lost.
Please join us in our efforts to help a dear friend in need. Your generous contributions will go toward helping Paul and Teresa rebuild their Santa Rosa home.
