Paul Hogge Funeral & Burial Help
Donation protected
Final Update:
Because of everyone’s generosity, kindness and love we were able to bury our father on Tuesday May 7th at Columbia Gardens Cemetery next to my mother. It was a beautiful day and I’m thankful for everyone who showed support and help during such a hard time, and thank you to those who shared and sent words of encouragement and advice. I wouldn’t have been able to bury our dad if it wasn’t for so many of you coming together to help me in a time of need, and I will never forget it. I will never forget any of you. The remaining amount is being covered by some money left over from my dad’s resident fund at his nursing facility and family who has offered to help with the remaining after that. I cannot say thank you enough to all of you. I will never forget your help for my dad, my best friend, my giant. Thank you. Matthew 6 19-21
Update:
Sorry I haven’t been able to update in a few days but I’ve been on my way driving home. Again thank you so much to everyone that has helped. I have raised enough to be able to pick up my dad’s ashes! So thank you. We’re very close having enough to be able to bury him, which covers the excavation, and urn vault installation, etc. Remaining needed for that is $345.
After posting I’ve had people reach out offering me different alternatives than what was quoted to me by the funeral home, and offered me some ideas which is very appreciative! It hasn’t been easy planning this from so far away. So with all that advice and help I have adjusted the goal amount and I also received some Venmo donations which have been accounted for as well.
The remaining balance goes towards the engraving of the headstone.
Thank you again to everyone. It means so much how you all have helped my dad. ❤️❤️
Hello,
This is very difficult to write. Some of you may know and some may not, but this upcoming weekend I was planning to go home and take my dad off of life support. On Oct. 25th 2019 my dad suffered a massive stroke, and he put up a good fight for years and overcame a lot of obstacles. But last Saturday 4/20/2024 a week before I was due to come home, my Father passed away late in the evening and went home to be with the Lord.
My dad’s later years were filled with financial struggle and I lived and stayed with him supporting us with a server job. I would often bring home my shift meals from work to share with him. He received social security and helped as best as he could, but unfortunately due to his age it was very hard for him to keep a job. But despite all of this he never lost his Faith and always remained steadfast in God’s promises even when he was bedridden.
I am blessed that when my mother passed away in 2005 that my dad also purchased a plot and headstone for himself. However, through this process last week I have learned how expensive funerals can be, and I need help. This is extremely humbling and difficult to ask because if I had the funds to bury my dad I wouldn’t ask for this. But my dad always used to tell me you’ll never receive if you don’t ask. So in honor of my dad, I’m asking for help.
Even if you can’t help financially, if you could share this or post it to your church group it would mean a lot to me and my dad. If anyone knows of a church that would be willing to let us hold a service, or a Pastor that would be willing to do a graveside service please let me know.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for your help during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Rebecca Hogge
