Memorial of Paul Keagan Jaravata

Donation protected
On Friday morning of September 1st, 2023, Keagan Jaravata was found in and out of consciousness due to an apparent skateboard accident in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

He sustained a serious head injury and fought until Wednesday morning, Sept 6th and was pronounced brain dead at the young age of 21. He is a son, brother, nephew, and friend. He moved into his new apartment this summer and started his senior year (Class of 2024) at Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland. He was highly involved in several organizations and was on the Dean’s List.

He is mostly remembered by his friends for his spontaneity, creativity, and contagious positivity. He went out of his way to introduce himself to everyone who crossed his path and was well loved by all who knew him. Keagan lived life to the fullest and found adventure everywhere he went. His spirit will live on through the many memories of his friends and family.

He has selflessly given himself as an organ donor. Family and friends will be honoring his life in an Honor Walk at University of Maryland Medical Center (22 S Greene St, Baltimore, MD 21201) at 8am (time is tentative), Saturday, Sept 9th. Please feel free to join us. The hospital staff is requiring all guests to walk through security, so we request you be 15-30min early. All friends/family can wait in the lobby until it is time to join him for the Honor Walk. Please bring a photo/momento to share with the immediate family as they complete their walk with Keagan for the last time.

He is loved by so many from all over the world. The family is accepting donations and prayers, as they begin the grieving process of burying their son, brother, and nephew. Memorial services will take place in both Maryland and California. The dates/locations of the memorial services are TBD.

He is survived by his father — Paul Jaravata, mom — Fatima Alvir and his brother — Keanu Velazco.

Please pray for the reposed soul of Keagan and the Jaravata/Alvir family during this time. Keagan and his family are Parishioners at Our Lady of the Chesapeake in Pasadena, Maryland.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.
