Paul Lebel

As many of you know, the Lebel family has been faced with a heartbreaking diagnosis of Stage 4 Cholangiocarcinoma (bile Duct cancer) for Paul Lebel.

On September 24th Paul went into the hospital for a "Whipple" procedure in an attempt to prolong the time has left.

The complicated 6 hour surgery was stopped at the 3 hour mark, the cancer had aggressively spread through his stomach, intestine, kidneys and has covered the aorta and vena cava veins. Since then 5 other procedures had been attempted with 4 of them failing or being cancelled. The most recent procedure on October 7th to drain his liver of toxins has succeeded. However, the ordeal has Paul weakened and struggling to heal.

The family also experienced an act of vandalism while staying at an airBnB to all 3 of the family vehicles.

In light of the heartfelt offers from the community we have created this gofundme to help alleviate the burden of travel/living expenses that have come up due to this unexpected extended hospital stay. Paul's family remains in Winnipeg, MB by his side 2 hours from their home.

Paul Lebel is in his 30th year of service as a police officer. He began his career with the municipal police service Meaford/Thornburry and moved to the OPP in 2002.

Paul's only goal is to be able to return home and spend what time he has left with his wife and children.
