I'm Nate Harvey, point person for Group 11 at the Juilliard Theater Center ('82), and we are eager to help our beloved friend, Paul, in a time of need. Paul just emerged from two weeks in the intensive care unit of a Los Angeles hospital, where he has been suffering from a brain abscess. He has lived and worked in LA for many years as an actor, writer and producer, among other things, one of those bedrock theater artists who stay involved at every level, hanging lights, conceiving stories, carrying chairs, working, helping, laughing, insisting always, simply, on clarity and excellence. His work has been inspirational to professionals and audiences of all ages. Paul has had a very close scrape. A mutual friend wrote this morning, "He was sleepy when we saw him earlier. A smile, a few mumbled words, and that's about it. Sometimes he's more lucid, his sister says." One of his nurses says Paul's recovery will be long. He will need help with everything, groceries, rent, life. His friends will be close, and your generous assistance will be put to great use. Thank you from all of us on behalf of a very dear and giving man. Please share widely.
