Half Marathon for Cancer Research

Hello,

Myself and Orla Kitching will be running the Vancouver half marathon on November 26th to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society, in memory of my late boyfriend Paul McGhee.
Paul was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma in January 2020 and passed away in July 2022 at the age of 24, after putting up a huge fight against the disease. Throughout his illness, he always remained so positive and strong. I think anyone who knew Paul can agree that he was a truly special person, and we were lucky to have known him.
The Irish cancer society offers support to those fighting cancer, works towards greater awareness and prevention, as well as life-changing research into treatments for all types of cancer.
Throughout his fight against the disease and once his treatment was stopped, Paul felt very strongly that even if he couldn’t be treated anymore, he wanted the oncology team to learn from his illness and to gain insight that might help other people, even if there was nothing more that could be done for him. Even at his lowest points, Paul was always thinking of others.

We would really appreciate any donation at all!
Thank you,
Joanna & Orla
