Paul my Paul- and his expensive medical bills

Donation protected
I really hate to put this all out there, but with medical bills piling up, here goes. On Monday April 18th Paul left work like normal. On the way home he became very sick, throwing up very large quantities of blood. In the emergency room, we weren’t given very good news. His esophagus and stomach had severe internal bleeding. His spleen was nearly 10x enlarged. His liver was barely functioning and he had a large gall stone. As if that wasn’t enough, as he was being transferred to UPMC Presby in Pittsburgh, the paramedic hands me his report. To make a long story short, it says “cancer of liver”- find out if it’s primary or if it has metastasized from somewhere else. After a long week in the icu, an emergency surgery involving his heart and liver, and many scans- Doctors are not fully confirming cancer, but it’s not out either. One module is “possibly suspicious”. His work does not offer benefits. Because of previous income he also didn’t qualify for Medicaid- we are fighting for it, but it’s a process. That leaves all of these expenses on us. We haven’t even received bills for 90% of his care yet and we’re already looking at 15k in debt. If you can help at all, please know we greatly appreciate it. Many appointments, labs, and scans are in our future and the cost is sure to be astronomical. Paul is the person who called me from the ambulance to tell me to be careful because the roads were bad. He’s an amazing partner and father, and I’d really like to keep him on this side of earth for many, many more years. If you can’t donate- please share. It will help tremendously.

thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Xoxo,
heather.
