Paul Pierson Memorial Fund & Family Support

Donation protected

Our hearts are broken by the sudden and tragic death of our beloved Paul on July 3, 2021 (on the weekend in American history that will go down as the most gun related killings ever registered). Paul's family is devastated and words cannot express the sadness and pain they and all who knew him are feeling over his untimely demise.

Paul's family needs our help and support at this most difficult time. His loving wife Grace, his 2 sons Keenan & Stephen and 4 grandchildren Zoe, Zane, Brady and Vance will need our financial support to help hold them up during this awful time. The difficulty and healing that needs to be faced is hard enough. All donations go directly to the family for immediate expenses of bills.

Paul's generosity is the "stuff of legends." He touched so many lives, sharing his knowledge freely to especially anyone who needed to learn or receive an explanation of how something worked! A quote from his older sister, Judy, expresses this perfectly: "It's easy to be generous when you have much to spare. Paul was generous when he had little and none to spare. He showed me this when he was just a little boy. I shall miss him." It is well known that Paul put the needs of others above his own. That's just who Paul was and he was always led by his generous heart. Both of his sons could attest to whatever they needed, their dad was there for them offering any type of support they might need. Another place he showed up for those he loved was to encourage and help others to obtain a higher education. He quietly bought computers for his niece and even a beloved cousin as they struggled as students in college.

Stories abound of his generosity and the family is still learning many great stories of how he helped someone in need. One particularly wonderful example was when his nephew called with a broken down car in another state. Paul asked, "Well, do you have a screwdriver? No? How about a penny? Okay, now tell me what's on the floorboard of the car. Okay, get the straw and let's get you back on the road!" Of course, it worked and they were safely back on their way after an "on the phone" repair and explanation lesson.

Any and all contributions of support would be most welcome at this time and received with deep gratitude. This tragedy has sparked an invigoration in the family's lifelong dedication to peace activism, as they are re-dedicated to end gun violence. They are particularly drawn to the work with the group "Change the Ref" which emerged from the pain of the Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting. Do check out their latest work and you can send a donation to them and to Paul's name if you feel moved to.

One of the most important ways we can honor the legacy of our beloved Paul is to let his love of life and generosity to all beings live in your life and heart. In that way we can keep his beautiful spirit alive.

"May all beings be happy

May all beings be safe

May all beings everywhere be free"
