Paul Qualls medical and other bills

Update:

he is home but still struggling with his health and unable to return to working as of right now. He has many dr’s appointments they need to get to and their only vehicle needs repairs. We appreciate immensely the donations and the shares to get the word out to help my parents through this rough patch.

Hi,

My father Paul Qualls was admitted to Carson Tahoe on Thursday May 2nd 2024.

He was diagnosed with emphysema in his left lung and has been in the hospital since. Not sure of when they’ll be releasing him currently. The hospital helped my mother apply for Medicaid to help with any medical bills they will have coming out of this. As of right now they are talking about setting him up with at home oxygen.

My dad is the one who has always provided for my mother and me when I still lived at home. He has made it so my mother can stay home and take care of the home. Recently they have fallen on hard times as my dad has been struggling to find work despite many efforts. He was set to start at Tesla just before they had laid off employees and his opportunity fell through. They have had vehicle issues arise since my mom took my dad to the hospital as well. For my mother, my dad will need someone at home to help when he is released and with the vehicle issues and her own health issues, working is not feasible for the time being. Because my dad is unable to work right now, they will be unable to collect unemployment, but bills still need paid, and they still need food in the house.

With a diagnosis like emphysema, this is something my dad will be dealing with for the rest of his life. But, my parents need help getting used to this new normal and having solid ground to stand on in order to navigate this new life. Any donations we receive will be used to help pay bills and keep food in their house while we get them back into the swing of things. And we appreciate any donations we may receive as we know that times are tough for everyone right now, not just us.
