Paul Robison’s Open Heart Surgery Recovery Fund

Donation protected
Paul Robison and his family need our help. Paul is a practitioner of Chinese Medicine, wellness, and acupuncture, and has used his gifts to help many people. During a health screening in 2019, right after his son, Alder, was born, Paul learned that he suffers from aortic valve stenosis because of the radiation he underwent to treat Hodgkin’s lymphoma he had as a teenager. Doctors said that he might need a valve replacement 8-12 years in the future. However, in December 2022 he was told his aortic stenosis had become severe and it was time to have open-heart surgery to replace his severely damaged valve with a biomechanical one. With this news, Paul leveraged all his resources to heal the valve holistically to avoid getting this surgery, only to finally surrender to what feels like the right decision for his body. The surgery is scheduled for July 12th, and he will be going in on his birthday the day before for prep.

He will be required to stay in the hospital for 5-6 days following his surgery, and, assuming all goes well, will expect at least a 2-3 month recovery. Those who have had the privilege of receiving treatments from Paul know that the physical nature of his profession prevents him from being able to work in-person for the duration of his healing, placing financial strain on him and his family. It also comes at a difficult time because his wife and my sister, Deanna, was laid off from her job a few months ago, which has further strained their resources. We are hoping that a GoFundMe fundraiser will help alleviate the financial burden surrounding this surgery and take some of the stress off their backs while they focus on healing. Your generous donations will be used to replace their missing income, their medical health expenses (e.g., out-of-pocket maximums, insurance premiums, treatments and supplements, etc.), and ongoing business expenses during his recovery.

A compassionate father, devoted partner to my sister, supportive friend, and dedicated healer, it’s our turn to help take care of Paul as he has done for so many of us. Please donate what you can, if you can. Any support, meditations, and prayers are much appreciated at this time.

As a thank you to donors, there is an option to obtain a t-shirt with Paul’s business logo on it for Resonance Holistic Living. Paul chose the name Resonance after being inspired by a book about ocean tides which became a powerful metaphor for the process of healing. As Paul explains, just like tidal resonances, deep healing requires a delicate alignment of numerous intrinsic and extrinsic factors, many of which are beyond our control. This is what makes true healing remarkable. The Resonance logo represents the alignment of the sun, moon, and earth of this metaphor, and reflects the Yin Yang symbol connecting it to Chinese Medicine.

Paul and I worked together to capture his brand, and I made this T-shirt specifically with this fundraiser in mind. We can wear this shirt to honor Paul’s passion for healing others and as an invocation of his health and well-being.

For anyone who is able to donate $75 or more and wants a shirt, please say so in a comment with your donation along with your size (S, M, L, or XL). For those who need to send their mailing address, or who would like to donate anonymously, you can email me at (Ashley Wertheimer) at gmail and provide your name, mailing address, and shirt size. Your support means everything! Thank you!
