In Memory of Paula Portermain

Hi everyone, our names are Molly & Kelly and we're fundraising money to help our mom, Paula. After a week of being extremely sick, on Saturday July 16th she went into the emergency room. After a few tests and scans, we received news that nobody was expecting nor wanted to receive. She has been diagnosed with peritoneal carcinomatosis (cancer of the abdomen) and an abdominal tumor. We are waiting for surgery of that tumor to be removed and then biopsied.

Our mom has been doing home daycare for almost 40 years. Between all of the current and future hospital stays, surgery, recovery, and followup doctor appointments (which may include chemotherapy), she will not be able to work for an unknown amount of time and being self-employed, there is no backup income. Her main concern has always been taking care of anyone who crosses her path and now we're hoping that folks will help us take care of her. If you've ever known our mom for any amount of time, then you know she is someone who always puts other people before herself. We want to ensure that she doesn't have to worry about paying bills while she takes this time to recover from her third bout of cancer. Everything raised will go directly to our mom to help her pay living expenses and healthcare bills.
