Last week, a devastating tornado tore through the community of Lakeview, Ohio, on Orchard Island and my dear friend, Paula Tackett and her family were among those who lost their home. Tragically, they did not have homeowner's insurance to cover the damage.
Paula and her family are currently safe, thanks to the generosity of the Red Cross volunteers at a local church. However, the road to recovery is long and daunting.
Immediate Needs:
Tree Removal: A large tree fell on the home and property, creating a dangerous situation and further hindering access for potential repairs. Removing this tree is the first critical step towards assessing the damage and beginning the rebuilding process, if repairing the 40 year old mobile home is even possible with the considerable amount of damage.
Uncertain Future:
The extent of the damage to the home is still unknown. In the worst-case scenario, the home may be beyond repair, leaving the family facing the immense challenge of rebuilding their entire life.
