Local Family in need of help
Donation protected

A local North Fork family, deep rooted within the community, needs our help.
Aquebogue Residents, Paul and Valerie Raynor, along with their children, need our help as a community.
Paul, a loving husband and father, has just recently had back surgery and will be out of work indefinitely. The family has started the paperwork to receive disability, but ultimately it could take up to 6 months to get an answer, if and when they are approved. While Paul is out recovering, Valerie will be the sole financial provider. She has had to take unpaid time off to help care for him just days after surgery.
Unfortunately, they have bills to pay - a mortgage, food, kids to take care of not to mention the medical bills that will be coming their way.
Paul is self-employed as a carpenter and does not have a big company and insurance backing him. He has not been able to work since August due to the severe nature of his physical condition. He has severe damage to his spine from arthritis, fractures and a rare hereditary disease called epidural lipomatosis. On October 26, he had a procedure called a level 5 laminectomy and removal of lipomatosis, to take some pressure off his spine because he was starting to loose feeling from the waist down and was having trouble walking. We are hopeful that this procedure will help him to move around again, but this could be a long recovery period.
I have seen what a community can do when we need to pull together and rally around our own. There is no doubt that the family does not want to feel like they are a charity case, but we need to support and build them up and help where we can as friends, neighbors, and a community. Whatever you can do to help, would be greatly appreciated.
They need immediate help!
