Help Paul Battle Multiple Myeloma
My name is Jay. My wife Donna and I have known Paul and his wife Tina since before our sons were born one day apart, over 40 years ago. Over the last 40 years, all our children grew up together, we've visited back and forth, and Paul and I attended many college basketball games together. We've grown very close and are like family to each other.
Three and a half years ago, Paul started feeling unwell, shortly before he retired. About a year later, a lump on his shoulder was diagnosed as plasmacytoma. A biopsy found multiple myeloma, an aggressive cancer. Several more tumors were found and Paul was treated with radiation to shrink them. During the COVID pandemic, Paul has been fighting for his life, with 4 different rounds of chemo therapies, all of which failed, plus stem cell treatment. He had two kyphoplasties to cement fractures in his vertebrae caused by the cancer. Now, the cancer has spread to his liver. Bispecific antibody treatment is to begin soon. Paul has incurred multiple hospital stays, with this latest one lasting over a month.
His upcoming treatments will be extremely expensive, for both the treatment and the living expenses of staying far from home at the hospital. The burden is being felt now.
Through all of the bad days, Paul and Tina try to remain positive and hopeful.
I started this GoFundMe page to invite people to donate whatever amount they can. The money will allow Paul to get the medical treatment that he sorely needs.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any donation you can make.
