This year I'll be taking on a three-pronged cycling challenge to support two very worthy charities - Macmillan Nurses and Chest , Heart & Stroke NI. The first 2 stages I'll do on my own, and for the third, I'll be joined by a group of friends as part of our Italian Job 3. Since the first Italian job 5 years ago we have lost three colleagues to either cancer or heart attack, and this year's challenge is in their memory. My challenge comprises these 3 stages , the video shows some of the mountains I'll be climbing
In June I'll ride across Italy in 1 day, from Cesenatico on the Adriatic Coast to Tirrenia on the Mediterranean Sea ,
almost 300km and 10,000 ft of climbing.
In August I'll cycle from Geneva to Nice over 7 days, a distance of around 500 miles , climbing almost 50,000 ft in total over 15 mountain cols used in the Tour de France , including the highest road pass in Europe , Le Col de la Bonette
Finally in Sept , for the Italian Job 3, we will each cycle at least 350 miles over 5 days in and around Lake Garda , taking in at least 2 climbs from the Giro d'Italia
I am covering all my costs including any GoFundMe fees so every penny you donate will be evenly split between the 2 charities.
This is a huge challenge for us all but is nothing compared to what the people who benefit from these charities face every day - please support our efforts by donating - thank you
