Paws in the Classroom, A Tribute to Hal

My name is Elaine Lochem, and on Saturday morning, July 2nd, while taking a walk, my miniature Australian Shepherd Hal was struck by a hit-and-run driver killing him. He was a young 1 and 1/2 years old. Hal was an ambassador of all things good and everyone was his friend. All he ever wanted was love and attention and, of course, treats. He attended All Bright Canines daycare with his 6-month-old sister Shayna. He was loved very much and his death has shattered our world.

All Bright Canines is constructing a new classroom to teach kids about being kind to animals and how to be animal advocates. We are looking for donations towards this worthy and timeless cause and want to raise money as a tribute to Hal in memory of his huge spirit and loving heart.

Paws in the Classroom is a proactive approach to combat animal abuse and mistreatment. We believe that providing education about all kinds of animals brings value to them. Our goal is to raise the next generations of animal advocates by teaching them what animals need to survive, how they benefit and thrive through training that utilizes positive reinforcement and how anyone can use their voice in defense of animals. They can speak for the voiceless and be a powerful catalyst for change within their community. Educating our community makes it easier for the animals within it to be understood, which creates better relationships and safer ones for everyone involved. We also support low-income families to obtain life-saving medical care for their pets and assist with grooming expenses for senior citizens on a fixed budget.

All proceeds will go toward building expenses for the classroom.
