Pay Back the Kids -MCSLL

In late February, 2017 board members of the Martin County South Little League became aware of suspicious activity occurring with league bank accounts.  The information was immediately turned over to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office for a full investigation.  During the course of the investigation, it was determined that an alleged theft of funds occurred, possibly involving a member of our board.  At the onset of the investigation, the board member was immediately removed from all little league activities.  After a complete and thorough investigation by the Sheriff’s Office, an arrest of the board member occurred on May 12, 2017.  

We are deeply saddened by this breach of trust in our community.  Over $14,000 was stolen that belonged to the children of our league.  This money would have been used for uniforms, equipment, and overall improvements to aid the children of our league in learning the game of baseball.  

We have implemented new board members and made security improvements to our league that will prevent an incident like this from ever happening again.

Although we are in no danger of losing our league thanks to the tireless efforts of our volunteers, we need the community's support to rebuild what was taken from our children.  Any donations will go directly to our league accounts to assist in making the Martin County South Little League the best it can be for our baseball families.
