Pay for Funeral Costs and Expenses of Brin Riley

My name is Mack Packard and I have known Brin since we met at summer camp in elementary school. Brin always struggled with substance abuse and on May 8th, 2022 it eventually took his life. Brin was always the light in a dark room and would bring joy to anyone he interacted with. People gravitated toward him because of his kindness and lighthearted mood.

Brin and I reunited in the boy's dorm during high school while away in St. Louis. It was there that we really connected. He possessed a sense of innocence that stemmed from his love of fashion, music, and Catan. Despite being older than him I really looked up to Brin. I sat behind him in Calc in high school and he always knew the material despite it being a rigorous course. Almost every day he would wake up at 5 am and go work at his job outside in the cold.

I knew Brin had substance issues in the past which was why he was at school in the first place. While in school he was clean for the majority of the year. Eventually, it started to take hold of him resulting in an overdose that sent him to the hospital. Brin survived but the school expelled him because of it. Looking back on the time he was sober I can see that Brin had hope and I had hope for him too.

He really made a good impression on everyone while at school. Laughter and happiness followed him everywhere he went. Despite always having a smile on his face, Brin struggled with depression and saw reality from a different angle than everyone else. He was burdened with this load and a crutch was the only thing he could use. It's hard for me to imagine growing up now while he eternally stays the same age.
