Travelling Monk Needs help to cover Medical Bills
Tax deductible
Srila Bhakti Gaurava Narasingha Maharaja is currently a travelling monk in Vermont. He has been diagnosed and battling with a Stage 4 cancer. The group here is very small and are unable to catch up with the piling medical bills. We are seeking your valuable donations to help cover his treatment cost. No amount is big or small, every dollar counts. Thanking you for all the time and your contributions.
May his grace be upon all of us.
Brief Biography
Swami Narasingha first met his spiritual master, His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in the summer of 1967 in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, California, but it was not until 1970 that he took initiation from Srila Prabhupada in Los Angeles, thus becoming his duly initiated disciple.
After that, Swami Narasingha engaged himself in the process of studying Srila Prabhupada's books, sankirtana, and book distribution as his life and soul.
In 1972 Maharaja was requested by Srila Prabhupada to go to Africa for preaching. Due to the many dangerous risks that Swami Narasingha took on repeated occasions to serve Srila Prabhupada in Africa and Muslim countries for 5 years - Swami Narasingha became known amongst Srila Prabhupada's disciples as a fearless preacher of Krishna consciousness.
In 1976 he traveled to Sridhama Mayapura, the birth site of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, where Srila Prabhupada awarded him the status of sannyasa and the title of Swami. In the year that followed Swami Narasingha’s taking sannyasa he was in close association with Srila Prabhupada in Mayapura, Hyderabad, Allahabad, and Vrndavana.
In the years following the disappearance of Srila Prabhupada he established Sri Narasingha Chaitanya Ashram in Srirangapatna (South India), Kaliya-mardana Krishna Ashram in Mulki (Near Udupi) as well as Krishna Bhakti Ashram in Mexico. He has also helped renovate the historical Radha-Damodara temple in Vrndavana. He is now in the process of starting a small community and ashram in Vermont USA.
