Help towards paying vet fees and treatment for Barney.

Hi my name is Debbie and I live in Bognor Regis with my dogs Gigi the Shih Tzu, aged 14 and Barney the Chihuahua, aged just 2 years and 8 months.
Up until a week ago Barney was an active, cheeky little chap who loves his garden, big sister Gigi, food and toys. He is the sweetest boy and hasn’t a naughty bone in him.
I noticed that Barney was a bit wobbly on his feet and was sleeping during the day more than he should being only 2. He was also off his food and not playing with his toys.
Our lovely regular Vet Practice suggested a neurological issue could be the problem and referred Barney to a specialist Vet Practice approximately 40 miles away from our home.
This all happened in 24 hours and the next day I was informed that Barney has an inflammatory brain disease called Meningoencephalitis of unknown cause. He will be on steroid medication and require Chemotherapy every three weeks at a cost of £500 per round.
After the shock of the diagnosis I found myself facing the daunting challenge of covering £5,000 in vet fees, plus the costs of ongoing Chemotherapy treatment, medication and scans for my beloved boy Barney. My pet insurance has covered the first £2,000 of the bill and I have used all my savings to raise another £500, which leaves me owing the Vet £2500 due in 6 weeks time.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference in ensuring Barney receives the complex and costly ongoing care he needs.
Your support will not only alleviate the financial burden but also provide hope and comfort during this difficult time. Together, we can give Barney the chance for a healthy and happy life for as long as I am privileged to have him.
Thank you for reading our story.
