"Pay It Fwd" David Dewar Memorial Scholarship
Donation protected
As terrible news begins to spread like wildfire, we pause to remember a man that has touched countless lives. On August 20, 2019, David Curtis Dewar left this earth, but in our hearts and souls he will continue to live on as a husband, father, son, sibling, friend, and doctor.
Leaving a Tiger’s baseball game once, we were having a conversation about who knows what and mid-conversation Dave darts across the street. I stood there watching, as he placed money in a homeless man’s cup that sat quietly off to the side. Dave returns to our side and picks up the conversation without missing a beat. No words regarding his kindness were exchanged. This, to me, sums up the man that Dave was. He was the type of person, that in a crowd of people, spots those in need, does what he can, then returns as if nothing happened.
To honor who Dave was as a person, we are setting up a Scholarship in his name. Our family ask that in lieu of flowers, you consider donating to the “Pay It Forward” David Dewar Memorial Scholarship. Details of how to become a recipient of the scholarship will be finalized at a later date. In the meantime, please help us celebrate David Dewar’s life by “doing what Dewar would do”.
With love,
Karen Marcotte (Dave’s Sister-in-Law)
