Pay it Forward for Doris

I want the Castro Valley Community to meet Doris. Doris is the kind lady who found my daughters wallet pouch and returned it to her. Let me tell you a little bit about Doris (what I know in this brief life event). Doris is here locally working at both our Safeway and Lucky. She works about 70 hours a week. She actually walks to and from work because she doesn’t have a car. Doris came across Destiny’s purse laying on the curbside and no one around. When she found it she opened it up and found a large about of cash ($220), roughly 70$ in Visa gift cards, Starbucks cards, Apple cards, Sephora cards, her brand new AirPods. Wow did you hear all that! It was literally EVERYTHING my daughter got for her birthday this weekend. My 14 year old daughter was devastated, as well as myself. We frantically knocked on doors, and asked people if they could review there cameras. I came across a neighbor (Meagan) who suggested I start posting on the local Facebook pages. 

Turns out I frantically messaged CV News and bam I started getting information that Doris (I didn’t know her name them) had found a wallet pouch and had already reached out to her friend asking her to start searching the web sites for any leads. Linda (Doris’ friend) thought there wasn’t a chance she would be able to find the owner, but she did!!! 

Doris walks roughly 2 miles to get to work daily, that is how she stumbled across my daughters pouch. She REFUSED a reward and reminded me that the Good Lord made sure she found it to get it back to its owner. She is a TRUE blessing to our community. 

I wish I could buy her a car!!! If there is anyone out there that has access to low cost vehicle maybe I can get a donation fund started I don’t know how but sure pray that there is a way to assist her in getting some transportation. She is not the kind of person to even take a reward so we would have to get it and get it to her without giving her a choice. 

My heart has been moved in such a way!!!! And the world is a better place because Doris is in it!!!!
