Pay it forward for Gord

Our best friend and brother Gordon is 48 years old and was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer last May. Anyone who knows him could probably recall several occasions where his selfless acts have made their lives a little better. His strength, compassion, and cheerful nature have always been the characteristics that have made him a great friend to everyone in his life.

Gordon volunteered to be on a clinical trial and began chemotherapy last June to stop the spread of cancer. He was responding very well until an infection forced his doctor to suspend the treatment.

While the chemotherapy was suspended, the tumors began to grow again, which led to several complications and ultimately caused his doctor to make the decision to permanently stop his treatment.

But Gordon wasn't ready to give up and told us he wanted to keep fighting. Through all of his treatments, his strength and resolve to beat cancer never waivered. I will never forget him saying that he never asked himself, "why me?", because if it wasn't him, then someone else would have to suffer like this instead.

After endless research and consultations with medical professionals, Gordon has begun a high-dosage IV Vitamin C treatment which is well documented to be a potent anti-cancer agent when administered intravenously. Unfortunately, this treatment is very expensive and only partially covered by insurance; this is compounded by the fact that he has not been able to work during his treatments and will likely not be able to work for the foreseeable future.

Gordon needs our help to keep fighting; anything you can donate will be appreciated more than you could ever possibly know.
