Pay It Forward to Broc for Cystic Fibrosis

Let's Pay it Forward to Broc Glover!

Broc Glover isn't just a six-time AMA National Motocross Champion. He's a caring leader who has used his influence and notoriety to help raise money to fight Cystic Fibrosis.

Broc Glover has raised over $500,000 since 2008 to help fight Cystic Fibrosis. His donations have supported The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

What makes Broc's story so powerful is he raised these funds without taking a dime for his son, Dayne Glover, who has Cystic Fibrosis.

Broc Glover

Broc has selflessly helped families with children diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis as he understands the battle they fight everyday as it's one he, his wife Molly and son also fight.

Broc's son, Dayne, is 17 years old and was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at the age of 6.

“Nothing I’d ever encountered in my racing career even comes close to the challenges Dayne faces each day with CF,” said Broc.  “It’s a battle to help him lead as normal a normal life as possible and I’m very thankful that good friends like Roger DeCoster, Eddie Lawson, and so many other greats from the motorcycle community have reached out to help.

The inaugural Breathe Easy Ride Against Cystic Fibrosis was a huge success.  Broc and the motocross community raised $86,000 for the CF Foundation.

That was just year 1 of fundraising!

Dayne Glover and Cystic Fibrosis Medical Expenses

Broc's son, Dayne had one visit to the hospital which exceeded $70,000, which insurance did not fully cover.  Medical insurance often does not cover deductibles, copays and many medications.

Even an upgraded breathing machine essential for Dayne cost over $14,000.

This is a small fraction of the costs the Glover family will incur in the future.

Lifetime health care costs for Cystic Fibrosis are approximately US $306,332 (3.5% discount rate). The majority of costs are accounted for by hospital inpatients (58%), followed by pharmaceuticals (29%), medical services (10%), complications (2%), and diagnostic tests (1%).

These expenses are not all covered by insurance.

The numbers are staggering, yet through it all, Broc Glover put his empathy and compassion for others ahead of his families own needs many times since 2008 and continues to do so today.

Dominic Vantangoli Helps Pay It Forward for Broc

Now is where the story gets even more exciting, enter Dominic Vantangoli, a 24 year old man with Cystic Fibrosis who loves to ride his dirt bike with a 2,000 psi oxygen tank strapped to his back.

Riding allows Dominic to free his mind from the struggles he faces daily. Motocross is Dominics escape like it is for many in the MX community.

Dominic's goal is to race Motocross in 2020!

At the RacerX Maine Event this year the Motocross community, Nick Batten and countless others united together to contribute to redesigning a better camelback that holds a smaller and safer oxygen tank for Dominic.

This greatly improved Dominics safety and comfort while he enjoys riding his dirt bike.

No longer does he feel the large tank slap his back after landing from a jump.

No longer does he feel the top nozzle scraping his neck.

The Suprise

Dominic was surprised while at the JBR Best Whip Contest when Jay Cavanaugh of RAK Racing announced RAK Racing and 1RAK.org would be the title sponsor for Tyler Bowers racing against Travis Pastrana at Red Bull Straight Rhythm in the 500cc class and Dominic would be flown out for the event, all expenses paid by both Tyler Bowers and RAK Racing.

Dominic has been so elated words cannot describe.

He is inspiring and his perspective on life is contagious.

Dominic, Tyler Bowers, RAK Racing and 1RAK.org have decided to pay it forward to Broc Glover, Dayne and his mother Molly for all they have done to contribute over $500,000 to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Dominic realizes the money Broc has raised since 2008 has had a direct impact on the improvements in treatment he has received, including a recent experimental drug that may increase Dominic's lung function by 10%.

He couldn't be anymore grateful and realizes it's people like Broc, who support Cystic Fibrosis, that make advances in treatment possible.

Government funding does not currently exist for Cystic Fibrosis.

The funds raised from this campaign will go directly to the Glover family. Their use will be exclusive for the treatment their son Dayne requires in his many years ahead.

The motocross community consistently show how kindness toward others inspires people to pay it forward through random acts of kindness.

The People Behind This Fundraiser

Dominic Vantangoli, Tyler Bowers, RAK Racing and 1RAK.org have teamed up to pay it forward to Broc Glover, his wife Molly and son Dayne.

RAK Racing creates daily videos on mastering the mental game of racing and life. 1RAK.org perform random acts of kindness and are honored to give back to such a giving individual as Broc Glover and his deserving son Dayne.

Tyler Bowers is a professional SX/MX racer and has been 100% on board with our mission and couldn't wait to help a legend in motorcycle racing and his son.

Tyler will be competing against freestyle motocross legend Travis Pastrana at Red Bull Straight Rhythm in Pomona, California on October 5, 2019 in the 500cc class aboard a KX500.

Let's band together to help a great man who has helped so many families with Cystic Fibrosis without ever looking for anything in return.
