2023 Tree of Hope

We are starting our Tree of Hope, a 23 year tradition, a few weeks early this year, due to our critical need of monetary donations. Our current leading concerns are the cost of vet bills, making sure the Arks bills are payed (electric, water, minor repairs), and any supplies we need to keep the Ark running as usual.

The Ark of Cleveland, inc. is a Bradley Co. no-kill animal shelter that is dedicated to re-homing adoptable pets, and making their stay here as comfortable for them as possible. We are entirely staffed by committed volunteers, who may donate hundreds of hours of time to the Ark yearly. 

Every pet taken into The Ark receives comprehensive vetting before they enter our facility. This allows pets to be adopted by the public in take-home condition, and to be introduced to their new homes without the stress of additional medical procedures. This increases The Ark's adoption rate, and reduces the return rate. 

We are funded solely by donations, and the adoption fees recovered for vetting when a pet is adopted. We do not receive any city or county funds, as do the two municipal shelters. Please understand, we have NO paid staff and are all volunteers. We have no mortgage or rent as volunteers bought our building. We do have all the expenses every home does: electric, water, waste disposal, insurance, veterinary bills, and so on. In short, every penny is spent on the pets, keeping them in a loving home like environment. Now, their home is being threatened due to lack of funding.

If you would like us to honor a current pet or remember pets or humans that have passed, we would be absolutely happy to! Our Tree of Hope will be set up as soon as possible and we will decorate with homemade ornaments.
