Paying Tribute for the family of Mary Anne Hicks

Hi, my name is Laurie Melton, my husband, Jimmy Melton, and I have been neighbors with Chuck and Mary Anne Hicks for over 30 years.

Tragically, Mary Anne passed away unexpectedly Tuesday evening April 9, 2024, at her home in De Queen, AR.

Her family is devastated by her sudden passing.

Mary Anne worked at Bear Creek Healthcare, a local nursing home where she was a cosmetologist for 20 years.

If you are in the rodeo circuit, you may remember Mary Anne riding in barrel racing events. She was a professional barrel racer and won multiple titles throughout the years. She was accompanied to rodeos by Chuck and her sons Shawn and Stephen, they were in bull dogging events and brought home some winning titles as well.

You may be surprised to know Mary Anne was a power lifter when she was young, she could dead lift 315 lbs. She was offered a two-year contract to go professional but declined so she could be home with her family.

Mary Anne had a life insurance policy but since her passing Chuck was informed the policy was cancelled in October of 2023 due to Mary Anne needing to take a high blood pressure medication, although the premium payments were still being withheld. The insurance company stated a cancellation letter was sent but Mary Anne and Chuck never received it due to the address on the account being incorrect.

Can you help by giving a monetary gift to help Chuck and his family with the cost of Mary Anne's burial and/or their living expenses as they go thru the grief-stricken days ahead?
