Paying Tribute to Clay (Alfred) Moore

I have a close friend (Maddie) who's father passed away on December 29th, just short of the New Year and his 75th birthday.

 

Clay was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He had been battling a pulmonary fibrosis diagnosis for 5 years while his wife Lori, worked as his caretaker in addition to her fulltime job in the mortgage industry. This past fall, Lori was laid off from her position, therefore causing them to losing their primary insurance that covered the majority of Clay's medical expenses. There have been challenges with getting new insurance, Medicare coverage, as well as unemployment benefits for Lori, which has caused high dollar out of pocket costs for pulmonary fibrosis medications, therapies, and oxygen equipment.

 

We are starting this fundraiser to help her widowed mother cover funeral expenses and medical bills lefts from his declining health. Although there is nothing we can do to help with the pain of loss, the money donated will help take some of the extra stress off of the family.
