Paying Tribute to Daniel Vestal

Saturday, June 11th, 2022, Daniel Scott Vestal suddenly and unexpectedly passed away at home, leaving behind his wife, Erica, and their two young sons.
Daniel was a loving husband and father, a great son, and an amazing friend. He is already deeply missed by those with the good fortune to have met him.
This fundraiser serves to help support the Vestals through this challenging time and to help cover funeral and related expenses.
Daniel's full obituary is below:
"Daniel was born on November 27, 1986, in Youngstown, Ohio to Marcy Smith and Daniel J. Vestal. He grew up surrounded by his 5 siblings, Angela, Heather, Alyssa, Dakota, and Caralyn. 2010; he served in the Army with the 3d Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment in Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Daniel Vestal participated in the Afghanistan Campaign as an Information Technology Specialist. His last duty station was at Fort Sill in Oklahoma serving with the 31st Air Defense Artillery Brigade where he was honorably discharged after 5 years of service. Following his time with the Army, he continued in the government sector for over 7 years as a Senior Computer User Support Specialist Subcontracted with the Army Corps of Engineers aboard Ft. Sill. In 2020, Daniel completed his Masters in Cybersecurity at St. Bonaventure University. Daniel was in the midst of continuing his education with the Kansas State University Cybersecurity Program.
Daniel met his wife Erica in 2012 and they were married on September 17th, 2016 in Lake Elsinore, CA. They welcomed their first son, Gabriel in May 2020, and their newest baby, Michael in October 2021. Daniel spent his last day with his children and wife being a loving husband and father.
Danny enjoyed spending his time with his boys, taking frequent family trips to the zoo, comic book shops, and fan conventions. He and his wife were deeply involved in Table Top Games, such as Warhammer 40k, and Dungeons & Dragons. He encouraged their boys through their love of gaming, model building, and their ever-growing love of pop culture fandom.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Erica Vestal; children, Gabriel and Michael Vestal; mother, Marcy (Shawn) Smith; father, Daniel J. (Paula) Vestal; Mother-in-Law, Darlene Rindal; Maternal Grandparent, Marlene Spohn and Ronald Dickson; Paternal Grandmother, Shirley Vestal; Siblings, Angela (Brandon) Frazier, Heather (Jon) Schwartz, Alyssa (Dan) Zahirudin, Dakota Smith, and Caralyn Smith; Step-Siblings, Kurt (Emily) Show, Kristie (Walt) Show, Rachel (Brett) Pears; Nieces, Ashlyn, Amelia, Kaden, Jayla, and Kendra; Nephews, Johnny, Declan, Kameron, Neyland, Kadin, and Kaleb.
Daniel comes from a large loving family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Danny was predeceased by his Maternal Grandfather Robert Spohn and his Paternal Grandfather Charles Vestal.
