Paying Tribute to Derrick Thomas

Hello, my name is Jimmy Pedro. I along with countless others have had the absolute privilege to share countless years knowing Derrick. I’ve been able to view Derrick in a personal setting while sharing the stage, watching his creative juices flow doing something in studios and engaging in something he loved so much, creating music. Derrick blessed us all with his infectious smile, his musical talents and his larger than life personality that will forever life amongst us.

Derrick had the instant ability and charm to walk in any room, and his presence would spark smiles, conversation and love.

We are all broken at the loss of our beloved Derrick, but I find comfort in knowing he has an everlasting impression he has left on you. I picture Derrick doing a dance, reciting an old classic song, telling a joke, just making you always feel like you were in good hands with him. However close you may or may not have been with him, one thing remains that Derrick always treated others with respect, love and companionship.

Derrick, you join your Father in Heaven and ask you to continue to look down upon your Mother Alana, shine your light, and may your spirit remain with her eternally. I will always have comfort our memories, our time together in this life and the next.

With the blessings of Derrick’s family I have started a GoFundMe in honor of his life. The loss of life is always first and foremost in our hearts and mind. But realistically, the abrupt financial burden these situations cause are immediate. These heartfelt proceeds go directly to his family to help offset the costs of all of Derrick's of life services.

Any donation however large or small will immediately be put to good use in honoring the life of our Brother, Son, Father, Friend, Derrick Thomas. Till we share the stage again my Brother. I love you. We love you.
