Paying Tribute To Edwin Ramirez

On September 2022 our dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. After a year of chemo treatment and surgery he went into remission. Unfortunately on March 2024 he was informed that the cancer had returned more aggressively and was already at stage IV. After trying a few rounds of chemo he had to stop treatment because his body was unable to withstand it. While he was recovering his strength we were hoping to qualify and start a trial in the upcoming weeks but it is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our father, Edwin Ramirez, on July 1, 2024. Although we were gradually trying to accept the trajectory of his cancer we held on to hope that a miracle would occur until the very last second. His passing still comes as a shock to us as he seemed to be improving during his last couple of days. His death has left an immense hole in our hearts, one that feels impossible to fill.
Our dad brought so much love and light into our lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Our dad was incredibly selfless and always sought to help others. Our dad was a gentle giant, the strongest man we knew with the softest heart. He took pride in knowing that he was someone people could always count on and was always a man of his word. Our dad loved telling jokes and acting silly and never failed to make us burst into laughter, up until his last day with us. Our dad always did everything possible to take care of us and make sure we were happy. We love and miss our dad so so so much. We feel so lost without our dad but we will continue to honor him by living out the values he instilled into us. While he will be missed immensely we are trying to take comfort in accepting that he is no longer in pain and can rest easy in a better place where there is no pain or sadness.
As we come to terms with our dad’s passing, we are faced with the difficult task of arranging his final farewell. We want to give him the dignified and heartfelt send-off he wanted and deserves, but unfortunately, the financial burden of funeral expenses is overwhelming for our family during this already challenging time.
We are reaching out for support in honoring our dad’s memory. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help alleviate the financial strain and allow us to focus on grieving and remembering him fondly.
