Paying Tribute to Kali Dior
Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart to announce the sudden and unexpected passing of baby Kali Dior Bolden. Daughter of Lexi and Jeffrey (Sport) Bolden and granddaughter of our beloved friend and Spread The Cheer USA's Vice President, Jay Malyuk (Chiefnitro). If you have been following myself, Jay or any of the Board members of Spread The Cheer, you know this family has endured more tragedy in 7 months than most people experience in a lifetime.
Last April, Jay's wife, Felicia, was diagnosed with aggressive stage 4 breast cancer. They decided to move to Alabama to be closer to their daughter Lexi and her husband Sport and their grandson, Trae. Lexi was expecting her second child and they knew the move would enable them to not only support Felicia, but to support Lexi and Sport with their new baby. They packed up their youngest son Aiden, and their middle son Cameron, stayed in California with their oldest son Jon to finish school. Jay was over the moon to learn his second grandbaby was a girl.
Felicia began aggressive treatment in Alabama for her breast cancer and on August 26th, at 4:30 pm, Lexi and Sport welcomed their beautiful baby girl Kali Dior into the world at 8lbs 2oz and 19 in long! My GOD how beautiful she was. Everyone was simply over the moon, and Kali became Jay's best friend. If you follow him on social media you will see SO MANY photos and videos of "Pop Pops" and baby Kali Dior.
Shortly after Kali's arrival, on September 22nd, the family learned Jon was in a serious car accident in California. Thankfully, he survived! Felicia continued her treatments and things appeared to be settling down a bit. Felicia and Jay were building their new dream home, Felicia was able to continue working remotely, Cameron graduated high school in California and Aiden started his new school in Alabama (and the ladies were immediately smitten).
And then, another blow. In late October, while Felicia was about to take off on a flight back to California for work, she learned her mother unexpectedly passed away. Imagine being on a plane for hours with no one but the person in the seat next to you to support you while grieving the death of a parent. But Felicia, one of the strongest women I know, did so with grace.
On the evening of November 6th, at not even 3 months old, beautiful Kali Dior was taken unexpectedly from this Earth. The amount of pain this family is going through is unimaginable. Every single person who knows this family personally is hurting and grieving. How Lexi and Sport will go on...well, I can't wrap my head around it. But what I do know, is that they need us. They need all the help possible to provide Kali with the best type of funeral or service possible. Help to get through the day to day while being out of work. To keep going for Trae while not worrying about bills, car payments, house payments, etc. THEY NEED US.
If you are unable to donate, please just share this to everyone you know. And if you are spiritual, all Jay is asking for is prayers. Prayers to get by. Prayers to understand. Prayers that Felicia's cancer does not spread due to the stress of this loss. Prayers for Lexi and Sport who will never hold their baby girl in their arms again. Prayers for Trae who was the best big brother to Kali. And we ask for prayers for Jay, a retired Navy Chief of 20 years, who only thinks of others, and is reeling over the loss of his best friend.
Thank you in advance to all who support this family in their time of need. #prayersfornitronation #kalisangels
