Paying Tribute to Milt Cope Jr. (Memorial Service)
Donation protected
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart to share the passing of Milton Cope Jr.
Milt moved to Ocala, Fl in 2018 to continue his work at Ocala Regional Medical Center (ORMC) as a Medical Representative. He worked alongside Dr. John Main, who he has worked with for 16+ years. Milt was a loving father, son, brother, cousin, and friend to many. The first thing you would notice about Milt was his bright blue eyes and a wide, cheesy smile that never left his face. His laugh was contagious and never left a room quiet. Milt was a personable man who never met a stranger. He loved to help so many others, even if it meant giving the shirt off his back. He made sure that his loved ones around him always had what they needed and never let them go without anything.
On December 2nd, Milt was fatally shot in the chest. He was then transported to ORMC, where he then went in for emergency heart surgery. Surgeons fought to save Milton's life for three hours after the incident occurred. It wasn't until the end of the procedure that Milt succumb to his injuries resulting in the loss of his life. There is still an ongoing investigation and politely ask to allow the family their privacy at this time as they grieve the loss of a beloved man.
Milton was a family man. While working in the OR in Florida, it never stopped him from traveling to Georgia to see his mom, family, and cousins for any special occasion or flying his daughter Caitlin down from Oklahoma. While traveling between Georgia and Florida, his copilot Pecan (Cat) always made sure to keep him company. Milt would return home to his mother, Patsy Edwards, where he would take on numerous house renovations while teaching his nephew Chase alongside him. During Caitlin's holiday breaks from NOC Stillwater, she would fly down to see her dad. The two of them loved spending all their quality time at universal studios, cooking new recipes, and discovering new seafood restaurants around town.
Milton was very devoted to making sure Caitlin received an education. Milt struggled with his studies throughout his education, resulting in dropping out of high school. He later received his GED and began heading in the right direction to begin his career as a surgical tech--the rest is history. Milt's wish was to support his daughter Caitlin to ensure she did not have to worry about anything other than her studies to ensure she completed college.
Due to the unexpected passing, his daughter has been hit very hard with the costs of everything. I am creating this fund to try to help her be able to grieve at this time, rather than having to deal with all the financial struggles. Due to the ongoing investigation, Caitlin has or will be hit with lawyer and court fees, medical expenses, funeral costs, travel fees to and from Florida, Georgia, and Oklahoma, and any other expenses at this time as her father was her main provider. Every little bit helps. No donation is too small, and if you can't donate at this time, please share this fundraiser and send your thoughts and prayers her way as she has to lay her father to rest.
