Paying tribute to Peter “Pete” Swenson
Donation protected
Peter “Pete or Petey” Swenson gained his angel wings this week at the young age of 55. He was born July 15, 1966. Pete’s main passion in life was his family and his friends at Power Design. As Pete’s children were growing up, he would often rush in to work on Monday morning’s and hang pictures they drew together over the weekend, or he’d have a huge smile on his face while talking about how proud he was of each of them. Whether it was how fast his grandson was growing, a “that’s my boy” while talking about his son, or his face lighting up with pride when speaking of his girls and how amazing they are going to be at life, you could physically see the amount of love he had for his family. He shared this same enthusiasm and love for his work family. Pete genuinely loved unconditionally and without judgement. Pete loved making a difference and made an impression on everyone at Power Design. He loved mentoring every person he met. Pete was that guy who didn’t like to see you hurt or frustrated. So, in Pete fashion, if you showed up unhappy, you were going to get a pep talk, a smack on the shoulder, and quite possibly a song and dance. Pete was a “lifetime friend”. That friend where even though you talked all day at work, he’d pick up the phone as soon as he got home to call and say “Ya good kid?” Pete was dedicated to his family but was just as dedicated to his work family. Pete is up there right now laughing and probably poking fun at those of us crying. He is also overjoyed with the love we all have for him. Let’s come together as his work family to support Pete’s kids and loved ones during this painful time. You can help by donating money to assist in paying for his final farewell and to help ease any burdens we can for his loved ones. No amount of money will lessen the heartbreak. As hard as it is, let’s all try to remember Pete the way he would want to be remembered – pranking the boys, his head turning red when you make him mad, his excitement for 80s music week, but most of all, his contagious laugh and unquestionable fact that he loved each and every one of us. Goodbyes hurt the most when the story is left unfinished. We love you, Pete.
Now is the time for all of us to come together and make sure that Pete’s story is not left unfinished for his family. We would like to raise as much money as possible to help his kids through this trying time that they were not prepared for.
