Paying tribute to Randy
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Hollie and I’m Randy’s middle daughter. Looking through all my photos that I have of him tonight. We want to give my dad the memorial he deserves and honor his memory. Randy, my dad, was a survivor. At the young age of 19 he was in a very serious car accident. Hospitalized and in a coma for 19 days. Following, his release he was told he wouldn’t walk again but he did. He learned everything all over again defying the doctors diagnosis. Due to the severe head injury he was unable to work. He loved working so this was tough on him. He was able to do odd jobs like cleaning the Hillsdale Legion and working for Ed mowing at the shop. He made friends wherever he went. Especially, the Shell truck stop, formerly known as Citgo. Later, in life he suffered from a brain aneurysm and spent time in Iowa City where they filled it with titanium. Even after all that he pulled through. In 2010 his spirit was lost when his wife Deborah passed away. The once avid fisherman and hunter slowed down. Some of his closest fishing buddies could get him out there to forget the heartache for a while. He wasn’t done enduring more issues. He was faced with 3 strokes all at different times and the 3 rd one landed him staying in the hospital and then the nursing home. There was no life insurance policy or burial benefits for him. Anything, you can donate will help us reach our goal. Thank you from our whole heart.
