Paying Tribute to Sameer Arora
Donation protected
It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Sameer Arora. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. There are few words to express the pain and sorrow that we are experiencing.
We are spending this time remembering and celebrating the wonderful person that Sam was and reflecting on the myriad ways that he shaped and will continue to shape all of our lives. We remember Sam for his strength in the face of his Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, for his persistence in caring for himself and everyone around him, for his curiosity about the world, for his unique humor, and his utmost gentleness. He was a joyous adventurer who loved to travel with his family and take care of his pet bird Scallion. He was such a light and kind soul to know, and he always brought a smile to our faces.
Sam worked incredibly hard every day of his life. He endured more challenges than anyone should have in his 19 years with us here. We find solace in knowing that he is finally getting the peace and rest he so desperately deserved, but we are heartbroken without him.
Sam’s family missed a great deal of work caring for him, especially in his final days. We are asking for support in the memorial services that will pay tribute to Sam. After cremation, Sameer will be laid to rest in India. With your support, the Arora family will soon be able to fly to India as a family. There they will take Sam's ashes to Haridwar and return them to the Ganga River. These experiences are vital to mourning and beginning the healing process.
We are incredibly grateful for any support you can offer and ask that you keep Sameer and the Arora family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
