Pay It Forward, to Toby Chess
Donation protected
Toby Chess is known throughout our industry, not only as an amazing instructor with a plethora of technical knowledge, but for his willingness to give of himself, impart his knowledge to others and to ALWAYS do the right thing. Always the first to step forward and help others, our industry has the opportunity to pay it forward to our dear friend Toby, who is valiantly battling kidney failure as COVID-19 cripples his teaching schedule.
He has spent his life in service of others within our industry, and now has the opportunity to feel the reciprocal support from an industry that appreciates what he has done. Currently, Toby is undergoing dialysis three times a week, for four hours per treatment. This fund represents a way for an industry that is grateful, to recognize a wonderful man for his decades of service and volunteerism. For anyone that has ever been inspired by his words, motivated by his articles, informed by his seminars or videos, or simply touched by his generosity in sharing information
A Hall of Eagles recipient, Toby is known throughout our community as a multiple award winning Collision Training Specialist through I-CAR and SCRS, as well as his famous Technical Presentations at CIC meetings, showing the importance of technical education to every segment. Known for his work with First Responders' crash response training, he has always been an advocate for both body shops and their consumers. Toby has been awarded the SCRS Lifetime Achievement, Lifetime Honorary Membership, Industry Achievement Award, Collision Industry Individual Service Award, Humanitarian Award and the ABRN Leadership award.
What most may not know is that he spends a great deal of his time volunteering his services in an effort to bring this vast knowledge to shops all over the country, both personally, or through free training classes through multiple groups, as well as writing columns for Autobodynews.com.
No one has been a fiercer and more tireless advocate of education and training than Toby, and let’s not forget, he is a stud.
This is our opportunity to show our appreciation for all Toby has done for others!
This GoFundMe has been organized by friend and industry colleague Jordan Hendler, with help from teammates also touched by Toby's generosity and friendship. Funds will be given entirely to Toby, for use in replacing lost income during the COVID-19 pandemic, medical needs or as he sees fit.
