#DepopAndDonate For India
Donation protected
Join The Useless Project in using the formidable people power of the sustainable fashion community to raise desperately-needed money for the Covid-19 relief efforts in India.
THE IDEA
For the first week of MAY we are inviting all Depoppers, independent fashion retailers, and ethical fashion enthusiasts to sell an item of preloved clothing (or a few!) and donate the proceeds to our "Depop & Donate" fundraising campaign, which will be donating the money directly to The Hope Foundation in Kolkata.
ABOUT THE HOPE FOUNDATION
This Irish charity has been working on the front line within local communities to help fight the devastating new wave of Covid-19 that is tearing through the city. With India becoming the epicentre of the pandemic, and death tolls reaching unsurpassed levels, The Hope Foundation Hospital and the volunteers working within are doing all they can to help the most sick and vulnerable in need of help.

WANT TO GET INVOLVED?
Taking part couldn’t be easier - all you need to do is list your item for sale on Depop (or on your own vendor page, if you have one) and let prospective customers know where the money will be going to, using the hashtag #DepopAndDonate in your description. Once the sale comes through, you have until the 10th of May to donate the money to our Go Fund Me page here.
(*Or* you can, you know, just donate!)
POWER TO THE PEOPLE
We have a huge amount of confidence in the generosity of the sustainable fashion community and the power that its members have when they band together for a good cause, and we can't imagine a better cause than this one right now. So we hope you'll help us raise as much money as possible to support the incredible work of The Hope Foundation hospital and all their volunteers in Kolkata.

SUSTAINABLE (AND SOUND)
Engaging in the circular economy and going secondhand with your wardrobe is one major way you can minimise your negative impact on the environment and reduce your carbon footprint. To give you an idea of what we mean, by just wearing an item of clothing an extra NINE months you can decrease its carbon footprint by 20-30%. Combine with this with the added bonus of supporting an important and greatly-in-need-of-support cause as you go? Well, jeesh - you’re onto a serious, sound-as-a-pound winner, now!
