Payson (PD) McNett’s Recovery
Donation protected
On Monday, October 16th, P.D. was driving home from work and lost control of his vehicle while merging onto the freeway. His car rolled several times and skidded to a stop upside down. We still don't know the exact cause, but from what we can gather, some components in the steering may have failed, causing the vehicle to swerve violently and uncontrollably. He was airlifted to the trauma center at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, where he stayed for two nights while they performed a variety of tests. Fortunately, they found no head trauma, spinal injuries, or broken bones. We are so relieved that he is stable and expected to make a full recovery at home.
His insurance agent is doubtful that his helicopter ride - estimated to cost $20,000 - will be covered or that his vehicle will be replaced. After this accident, we want to see P.D. in a vehicle with safety features that meet current standards. P.D. puts others' needs before his own and frequently ends up with a hand-me-down vehicle that only he can keep running. We want him to drive a reliable car that will safely get him where he needs to go, but with the large cost of the helicopter ride that won't be possible. Any and all contributions toward this goal are greatly appreciated.
