Payton Carter Strong!!

Our friends are facing a very challenging time right now and so we created this link to try to help them navigate some of the financial obstacles they are facing.

We met Payton and his family 14 plus years ago when our children started at a new school. My son Aiden and payton have been best friends since the day they met in class. Payton lives in a single parent home with his mom, Deb, and his younger brother Levi. Payton just turned 18 in Nov, he has a full time job and his own vehicle and very much prides himself on being a contributing member in his household, the man of the house on could say.. He recently went to the emergency room to have a rash looked at, bloodwork and a trip to KGH resulted in him being diagnosed with Acute lymphocytic leukaemia (ALL). He will require inpatient treatment for roughly four weeks, and will require to be followed and have outpatient treatment for the following 2 years minimum.

During this time Deb will be off work as well as Payton. They will only receive a portion of their normal income and will have many extra expenses with the hospital stay.

The family has recently moved in with Deb’s father and they are trying to prepare for Payton’s discharge. The family home will need a small renovation to allow Payton’s bedroom to be on the main floor and next to the washroom, as his bedroom is currently in the basement. This small home improvement will make his recovery and return home much more comfortable.
