The Orland Park Vikings are asking for well wishes and prayers today for the Bruns Family and their son and former Viking, Payton Bruns, who was seriously injured in a hockey game last night. While playing in a U18 AAA Game with the Chicago Young Americans, Payton was engaged in a race for a loose puck near the boards. The defender dove in an attempt to clear the puck and Payton  lost his edge and slid out of control into the boards with his head down. Payton Bruns was taken to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge where he underwent emergency surgery overnight to repair broken C5 and C6 vertebrae in his spinal cord. The Surgeon feels the procedure went well and is optimistic. Payton will remain in ICU for several days. He will then go to rehab for an undetermined amount of time.  Payton is making progress everyday. The Bruns Family is asking for your prayers and good thoughts as their son begins this long recovery process. The overwhelming amount of support that the Bruns family has received has led us to create this Go Fund Me to offset any financial burdens they may incur in the future.

Please keep the Bruns Family, Bryan, Kristen, Cameron, Payton, Devin and Logan in your thoughts and prayers at this time. The Hockey Community is All Family. Thank you very much!
