Hello family, friends and other visitor's to Travis' page. We have started this GoFundMe page on behalf of our nephew, Travis Holcomb of York County, Va. Our family received devasting news yesterday, Sunday November 27th. Travis was diagnosed with a brain tumor. I will let Travis and his mom Annette's words from yesterday speak for themselves.
"Friend's and family, I am asking for prayers pleae. I had my 2nd seizure in less than two weeks after never experiencing one ever. I am currently waiting to be transferred from Walter Reed in Gloucester to Riverside NN to see a neurosurgeon because a CT scan shows a growth in my brain. So, after I get there, get evaluated, and can update, I will do so. Again please pray for me because I'm terrified right now." --Travis Holcomb FB post 11/27/16
"For all of our family and friends, our younger son Travis had a couple seizures the worst being today. He was taken to Walter Reed hospital in Gloucester this afternoon and after a CT scan it showed a large brain tumor on the front right side . He has been transferred to Riverside Regional and a team of Neurosurgeons are making a plan for surgery on Tuesday. Please pray for our son." - Annette Holcomb FB post 11/27/16
Travis is a young vibrant young man with his whole future ahead of him. He enjoys building and racing cars, as well as, riding his dirt bikes. This unexpected news came so suddenly that the family hasn't had time to think about the expenses they have already incurred from a CT and MRI, let alone surgery, recovery, and time missed from his automotive technician job.
Scott, Alyson and I are parents and feel completely helpless right now for our nephew and family. Our hearts are heavy with worry. Starting this fundraiser to help ease a small part of stress the family is facing is one way we can help Travis and his family. All money collected will go to cover medical expenses, recovery and income lost from being out of work. If by chance there are funds remaining after all covered expenses, we will donate to a charity committed to brain tumor research and victims (TBD after researching a reputable charity).
