Support Solar and Storage in Bombo!
Tax deductible
We are currently in the process of building a solar dryer and a storage unit/office in Bombo Majimoto , and we need your support!
The solar dryer is crucial to fully prepare our crops for storage and gain more control over the volatile weather and the rainy seasons. For example, we are currently growing hot peppers, and when thoroughly dried they can later be ground into powder and sold in higher-value markets.
With current project funds, we have already purchased the solar dryer. Now we must pay for the materials to be transported to Bombo, which will be an additional cost of 500,000 TSH, or $240.
*NOT our solar dryer, but our inspiration/model
The storage unit, or stoo, will provide a collective space for our Partners to safely store their crops once dried. This will allow our products to have a longer shelf life, and will give us more control over the weather and the markets. For example, when properly stored, garlic keeps for over 4 months. We can then have flexibility in going to market within that time and sell when the prices are highest.
Since we have already exhausted many of our funds purchasing the solar dryer and paying for inputs in our current garlic harvest, we really need your support!
The following are a list of items we still need to purchase in order to build our storage unit/office space. Please consider contributing to the construction:
4,000 Bricks = 400,000 TSH = $190
50 bags of Cement = 725,000 = $345
Mixer for Cement = 25,000 TSH = $12
Large Rocks for the Foundation = 300,000 TSH = $143
Small Rocks for the Foundation = 100,000 TSH = $48
13 Pieces of Rebar = 221,000 TSH = $105
47 Pieces of Tin for Roof = 564,000 TSH = $269
Wood for Roof = 300,000 TSH = $143
Nails = 24,000 TSH = $11
Door = 125,000 TSH = $60
3 Windows = 240,000 = $95
Benches for Office = 360,000 TSH = $171
Transportation for Remaining Materials = 700,000 TSH = $334
Price for Contractor and Team = 700,000 = $334
Your money can go a long way!
For $25, you can purchase mixer for cement and nails
For $50, you can purchase the small rocks for the foundation
For $100, you can purchase the rebar to solidify the roof or all 3 windows
For $200, you can purchase all 4,000 bricks
For $500, you can purchase the cement and large rocks for the foundation, or all transportation

Thank you all so much! Any contribution will help greatly. With your support, I know we can sucessfully meet our fundraising goal and build these structures that will help turn our project into a self-sustaining business!
