CAUSE Solidarity Fund

January 6th, 2022, a group of Amazonians in Raleigh, North Carolina, were fed up with the work environment (discrimination, harassment, unsafe conditions and pace) at Amazon and felt that the pay and benefits weren’t reflective of what they collectively contribute to the profitability at Amazon. Through our hard work, Amazon made record profits during the COVID pandemic! Through our hard work, Jeff Bezos saw his wealth increase to over $200 billion dollars and took the first commercial trip to Space (well technically the Jeff dressed as a Space Cowboy and just broke the Earth’s atmosphere)… but despite our hard work, and all the wealth increases of the corporate executives of Amazon and their shareholders, the workers deal with food and housing insecurity, mental health issues stemming from the work place, toxic management that engages in discriminatory behavior and ignores workplace harassment, and financial hardship. So we decided to do something about this… and we created CAUSE!

CAUSE (Carolina Amazonians United for Solidarity and Empowerment), is an entirely worker led committee made up of current and former Amazon associates. Our aim is to unionize RDU1 in Garner, NC and to have CAUSE in all Amazon warehouses throughout North and South Carolina! We are building a different kind of organization, a union organization that will be built to not only engage, empower and educate our workers and members, but the community as a whole. In help us accomplish this, we are asking for the generosity of the community we will serve.

So far in our efforts, we’ve collected 300 signatures(nearly 6% of associates) for our petition (calling for better wages, mental health support, a safe workplace and job security) have garnered 600 interest form submissions, we have a long way to go in winning this fight, and we need community support now more than ever!

What will the donations be used for?

•Campaign literature
•Transportation and travel costs
•Website and ongoing maintenance
•Software costs
•Union apparel for workers
•Organizer stipends
•Food for workers during union meetings and events
•Venue expenses for events
•Food banks for workers experiencing food insecurity
•Potential strike fund
•State Fees/government fees when forming union entity
•Legal costs

We will defeat Amazon in this fight and the Carolinas will be union territory for Amazonians! Please help us in this fight and show your solidarity with needed donations. Thank you!
