Johnny Griffith’s Recovery

Donation protected
We don’t understand what is going on but we know The Lord holds all of our tomorrows. Please consider donating to medical expenses and loss of time working. Johnny currently doesn’t have health insurance of any kind due to previous circumstances and this medical bill is expected to be huge. He and Amanda aren't sure how to predict what it will cost going forward and the longevity of follow up that the doctors are already talking about.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

For the last two weeks, Johnny has had congestion, low grade fever, and fatigue. He thought it was from our crazy Texas pollen season and sinus pressure. We were doing all the right things, allergy meds, extra vitamin C, Covid testing (negative), so he was trying to wait it out and let it run its course - little did we know we were heading for a huge speed bump.

Monday afternoon on our way to Lindale, he was struggling with focus and was blaming fatigue... we got to Lindale and I ran in to help my son grab his bag. When I came back to the truck, Johnny was dialing me on the cell phone. I questioned him, and all he could do was look at me with a warm but freakishly Chessire cat-like looking grin. He would not respond to me verbally. I kept asking him questions- still - just a suspect smile. Hurridley, I got him buckled up in the passenger seat, prepared my son, and planned to get Johnny evaluated asap. I didn't make it 5 minutes before he started groaning and moaning loudly and holding his hands towards his head. That proceeded him having a seizure and then collapsing in his seat. I immediately called 911, pulled over to assist him and wait for EMS. He had extremely labored breathing and was unresponsive even after he got loaded onto the ambulance.

Three MRI's, 2 EKGs, an EEC, Echocardiogram, Carotid Sonogram, a Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), a host of bloodwork and three days later we're still not exactly sure what the final diagnosis is. If the Neurologist has his way, an Angiogram and a Spinal Tap are still on the menu. We're mentally and physically tired at the moment. We're both missing work. We've had tons of support and love from friends, family, and co-workers.

He loves you all... a lot and has teared up several times over the course of this when he's asked me if I could keep all of his friends updated. I've slept a total of 6 hours, surviving on prayers, good humor, and lots of support is a real thing - and of course caffeine.

Thank you to all of you bringing us food, phone chargers, socks, drinks, checking on our animals, teaching my classes, praying and just calling him to let him know he's loved. I've never known anyone that loves his kids and friends the way he does. You guys are the gold standard for friends!
