Help us bring Be Here Meow to Black Rock City!

My name is Zoë Michelle aka Lightbulb and I'm the lead artist behind Be Here Meow. I've been a burner for 8 years and I've dreamed of this project for about 5 years. Finally, the purrfect team has come together to make this dream a reality. The timing is grrreat because the theme of this year's Burn is Animalia! 

Mission Statment:

"With the right catitude, anything is pawsible!" This art piece encourages participants to tap into their feline nature, to be curious, to play but also to lounge or take a cat nap. Be Here Meow aims to inspire playfulness by experiencing the joys of being a pawsitively pampered kitty cat. By creating an environment that helps humans feel more animalistic, we hope to inspire more compassion and care for our furry friends at home and their relatives in the wild...

Physical Description:

Be Here Meow is 10’ tall with a 8x8' footprint and is inspired by a cat tree. The structure is primarily made of wood. There are three levels, with cozy rooms on the first and second level and a viewing platform at the top. The floors are padded with exercise mats sealed down with a cheetah print fleece. The inner walls are also covered with a pink fleece. The exterior is covered in carpeting and the beam is adorned with rope to mimic a scratching post. The exterior will be lit with multicolor flood lights at night creating a rainbow effect around the structure. The ceilings of the rooms will be covered with psychedelic cat themed paintings that’s beautiful during the day and lit with UV black lights to bring extra details to life during the night.

8/5/23 Update:

We were able to purchase all 2x4’s beams and half our plywood using the donations so far! We’re incredibly grateful however we must ask our community for one final push in fundraising efforts. All donations $15+ will receive a sticker by mail! (Send mailing address to [email redacted])
